Tara L. C. Sood is a French-Indian photographer and filmmaker based between London, Paris, and India. Her work, primarily focused on people, often blurs the boundaries between staged imagery and documentary while embracing a distinctly cinematic perspective. She favours hand-printed analogue photographs, archival materials, and a rich colour palette informed by her Indian heritage, her personal practice seeks to offer new ways of understanding the past and moving beyond its stereotypes. The second recipient of Belmond’s photographic residency, she was invited to undertake a carte blanche project at the prestigious Villa Sant’Andrea in Sicily.
