The first collection by London-based Feiyi Wen. While working as a digitiser at the British Library, she developed series that take nature and landscape as their subjects, blending her own photographs with found images. Her work draws on philosophical, literary, and aesthetic traditions from East Asia and Europe, combining traditional and new printing and developing techniques as she layers scanning, manipulation, re-photography, and printing to produce faded textures and intricate layers. Natural motifs and landscapes recall traditional ink landscape painting. Overlaid with countless layers, landscapes are presented anew, inviting reconsideration of what it means to look at them.
