'Cypsela' is Salvi Danés’ new project, a body of work that delves into his vital and creative connection with the territory of Empordà, in Catalonia (Spain). The title refers to the mythological city described by Rufus Festus Avienus in Ora Maritima, an ancient enclave locatedalong this stretch of coastline which, despite never having been conclusively identified and with no certainty as to whether it ever truly existed, remains part of the historical imagination of the region. This idea of a possible city – evoked yet intangible – forms the conceptual framework of the project.
