In his introductory text for this monograph Dominic van den Boogerd describes Van der Heide as 'a painter of the visual culture, an artist who has seen much more in the form of newspaper photos, television images and films than she has experienced shorthand. With obvious pleasure she creates a world of painting that enables us to see things in a chaos of different ways'. Here a collection of her paintings and drawings are presented and examined in the light of various themes, backgrounds and sources.
