A collection of cassette tapes found in a thrift store became the organising premise for this work. The familiar recording format offered Bharat Sikka both a material and conceptual framework through which to explore photography, sequence, and memory. The book unfolds as two journeys: Side A and Side B. The first follows Sikka as he bring his daughter to Los Angeles to begin film college, introducing America through the shared rituals of the road trip. The second retraces that journey as he brings her home after her first semester. Avoiding a linear narrative, the book sets a rhythm of departure and return, allowing distance, repetition, and duration to become its primary subjects.
