Originating as an online magazine and expanding the biennial program Thinking Like a Mountain (2024–25), An Orobic Journey is conceived as a research platform rather than exhibition documentation. Through essays, conversations, and visual contributions by artists, scientists, anthropologists, architects, writers, and other experts, it explores the Alps as a multispecies political landscape. Inspired by Ursula K. Le Guin’s “carrier bag theory,” the publication gathers stories of migration, adaptation, care, and coexistence, reimagining mountain territories beyond anthropocentric perspectives. Blending poetic reflection with critical inquiry, it proposes new ways of understanding, inhabiting, and collectively engaging with the mountain landscape.
