This book proposes a reading of Florence as a living laboratory of the production, stratification, and transformation of knowledge, sciences, and art. Besides offering a visual and textual itinerary through the city, it features several Florentine museums, archives, and collections: the Florence State Archives, Central Herbarium, Opificio delle Pietre Dure, Galileo Museum, La Specola, and more.
