Marking the centenary of Filippo Marignoli's birth, this exhibition is the first retrospective dedicated to the artist since 2004 and the first held in his hometown of Spoleto since 1996. Twenty-two carefully selected works trace the evolution of his international career, from his early years with the Spoleto Group to periods spent in Rome, New York, Honolulu, and Paris. While his practice evolved from Informal abstraction to the celebrated Vertical Landscapes of the 1970s, the exhibition highlights the continuity of his exploration of landscape, transformed from expressive painterly invention into a site of analytical and semiotic investigation.
