‘A Mouthful of the People’ presents a series of ceramic bowls created for Heart for Palestine, a fundraising event held in Amsterdam in 2025. Each bowl is dedicated to one of the more than 400 Palestinian villages that were violently depopulated in 1948, accompanied by brief historical context and translations of the bowl decorations. Susanne Khalil Yusef is a Palestinian artist based in the Netherlands who creates immersive, colourful installations by combining a wide range of media such as murals, textiles, sculptures, and performance. Exploring themes of Palestinian identity, forced migration, and colonial violence, her work draws on her own family history and experiences.
