Antoni Muntadas (Barcelona, 1942) is considered one of the pioneers of media art and conceptual art in Spain. Since the 1970s, his work has stood out as being a lucid reflection of the construction and use of images in modern society. This book is published on the occasion of the first major retrospective of Muntadas in Italy, at the Museo d’Arte Moderna di Bologna, and includes key texts by authors who are very familiar with his body of work. Muntadas delves deeply into the effects of globalisation and processes of information and communication, as well as social, economic, and political dynamics, globality and transnationality, that play a role in our contemporary existence.
