Idea Code 21206

In this collage made from still frames of famous movies, Japanese photographer Kensuke Koike’s photos were taken directly from the TV screen, the tangible boundary between two realities: one facing the screen and the other hiding behind it. It hints at how the romantic love we desire could rest on a simple illusion. We never know what happens behind the screen...probably anything and everything. Koike’s research focuses on the origins of imagination and the variations of human perception through collage, photo-collage, installation, and sculpture. He transforms objects and images into artworks; only after their conversion do they reveal their most unusual aspects and characteristics.
