Infrastructures are like mountains whose slopes are slowly transformed. This book explores the temporal depth and the plurality of transformations at Porte Pouchet, on the edge of Paris, as well as their fictional potential. To envision its metamorphosis, architects and urban planners from MGAU and TVK drew upon the succession of major infrastructure projects that have shaped the district’s morphology. Through illustrations and contributions, it becomes clear how the urban project has taken hold of existing situations – new housing, a public garden, a parking garage – to create an open metropolitan space linking previously disparate worlds and offering a resource for the future.
