Cat's Narrow Road
|Author||N. Ameya; T. Shimizu; Y. Nose|
‘Cat’s Narrow Road’ introduces contemporary artworks which evoke the freedom, wildness, humour, and nonsensical behaviour of cats – creatures that have a different spatial perception and ethical perspective in comparison to humans. In living with us, cats have maintained their wildness without ever being fully tamed. They are familiar yet strange creatures in the sense that they are not particularly helpful but they have a strong emotional appeal. This catalogue appears with an exhibition in Japan and brings together the work of six artists and one pair of architects, throwing into sharp relief both affection for the familiar and the existence of things overlooked by our society.
