Julie van der Vaart – Blind Spot
|Author||Julie van der Vaart, Myrto Steirou, João Linneu|
'Blind Spot' was made over the course of six years by photographic artist and educator Julie van der Vaart, who deals with the concepts of imaginary time, questioning if our perception of time is real or a constructed concept that we cannot seem to break free from. She wants to show possible connections and correlations between different elements of life and question our place in the larger scheme of things. The artist shoots most of her work in black and white analogue film, focusing on nature and the human body combined with cosmic themes. She has multiple publications and exhibitions under her belt, and is supported by the Mondriaan Fund.
