Pablo Bronstein (1977) is an Argentinean artist based in London. He is deeply interested in the history of architecture, something which he has developed through various mediums. ‘Carousel’ constructs a narrative inspired by Victorian fairy tales. It presents the story of the Grey Witch, an enigmatic figure who represents the personification of the metal plate behind the glass of a mirror. It is she who connects the two sites where the exhibition develops, as told in the text by curator Catherine Wood. Choreographed by Rosalie Wahlfrid, the performance took place during the 58th Venice Biennale, followed by a video installation at the Complesso dell’Ospedaletto in Venice.
