Jan van de Pavert. Collected Works
|Publisher||Jap Sam Books|
This richly illustrated book covers Jan van de Pavert’s impressive body of work and central themes from the past years. Starting from his early sculptures that made use of architectural elements, he went on to work on films and computer animations with a focus on murals. He then worked on watercolours for computer animated films in the 1990s, representing the avant-garde movements and the political left in the 1990s. The Dutch visual artist also created many paintings focused on youth, the 1960s, the 1970s, and the idea of freedom, executing large scale murals for the first time in 2013 for an exhibition at Art Centre De Appel in Amsterdam.
