This book brings together photographs by Pietro Perotti, a worker at the Fiat Mirafiori plant in Turin, who since 1985 protested Agnelli’s oppressive labour policies through writings and drawings on the factory’s bathroom walls. This intimate form of dissent followed a decade of active involvement in strikes and class struggles. Each message was immediately documented - Perotti timed his shots with the toilets' automatic flushes to muffle the camera’s shutter click. His story begins in early 1985, in a specific place: the FIAT factory at Torino Mirafiori. For the first time, these images and messages - once scribbled in toilet cubicles and captured on film - are assembled in a single volume, preserving a unique working-class narrative.
