This work was created during the winter in the countries bordering the Baltic Sea – Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Poland – and explores the connection between landscape and the human soul, examining how this relationship is perceived and how it influences our sense of being. It consists of close-up images of streets, frozen courtyards, and walls, as well as repeated photographs of a human figure in a static pose that highlights feelings of emptiness and loneliness—both inside and out. Each image is accompanied by a single word: an adjective, a description of a mental or emotional state. Beneath the recurring figure, the word "human" is repeated. The final image takes the form of a kind of figurine – a holy card or tarot card – offering an interpretation of existence and the inherent difficulty of living.
