Martin Szekely - Ne Plus Dessiner

Martin Szekely declared in 1996 that his work would henceforth be guided by the mantra « draw no more », a principle of creation and procedure to which the designer remains faithful up until today. The book Ne plus dessiner is published on the occasion of the eponymous exhibition at the Centre Pompidou, Paris, from October 12, 2011 to January 2, 2012. Through the different texts and projects (those presented in the show), it returns to the foundations of this singular approach and enables to show the effects on his works of the past fifteen years. Each project – from the limited-edition pieces of furniture and objects to industrial designs and products – comes with a text written by the designer himself and Françoise Guichon, curator and head of the Design Department of the Musée national d’art moderne – Centre Pompidou.
