Andreas Herzau - Bambergdiary 1
|Author||Jacob Burckhardt E.a.|
A multifaceted panorama of the current music and cultural life of Europe, ‘Bamberg Diary’ follows the Bamberg Symphony on its travels throughout the old continent. The German orchestra was formed in 1946 and has since evolved into a cultural ambassador and vibrant example of internationalism. Photographer Andreas Herzau accompanied the orchestra on its concert itinerary, documenting the atmosphere of the various halls and venues where it performed. His images underscore the unique power of music, a universal language of humanity. Texts by Alfred Brendel, Eleonore Büning, Holger Noltze, and Uwe Rada deepen the experience of Herzau’s images.
