Barbara Klemm . Fall Of The Wall 1989
Photojournalist Barbara Klemm has spent more than four decades bearing witness to many of Germany’s most momentous events in recent history, including Mikhail Gorbachev at the 40th anniversary of the GDR in East Berlin and the fall of the Berlin Wall soon thereafter. Presented on the occasion of an eponymous exhibition at Museum Wiesbaden, this volume includes more than 50 images from between 1972 and 1990, with portraits of people on both sides of the Wall and photos taken along the border. Klemm’s reportage brilliantly documents this defining period of contemporary history, from the Peaceful Revolution to the toppling of the Wall and German reunification.
