Shiota Chiharu - The Soul Trembles
Presented by the Mori Art Museum, ‘The Soul Trembles’ is the largest exhibition devoted to artist Shiota Chiharu to date. It comprises around 100 works, ranging from her output in the 1990s to new pieces specifically produced for this exhibition. Besides large-scale installations, it includes sculptures, performance videos, photographs, drawings, and materials related to her stage design projects. Born in Japan and now based in Berlin, Shiota is known for work in which she probes the origins of life and death, in addition to her fundamental inquiries into our pursuits in life and future prospects.
