‘Egg Chain Drips’ is a collection of works by Daisuke Kano. Accompanied by his own commentary, it presents thirteen books Kano has designed. Reusing paper stocks, printing methods, typefaces, and layout formats of each original publication, the works are reassembled into a single volume using varied printing techniques and papers. Formats are deliberately interchanged. Based on the premise that graphic design operates upon a certain degree of publicness, this work aims to reveal the operative function of the field itself. Through misdirection generated by interchangeability and rearrangement, it illuminates the fault lines within otherwise meticulously detailed processes.
