Salvo 5: Actual Size
Although photography is inherently considered to be an objective medium, nevertheless a picture almost always involves scaling. It seems that we have become accustomed to interpreting photos - recognition and scaling of depicted objects is an automatic response to seeing photographs. This issue of 'Salvo' shines a light on the duality of of actual representation. Every photograph inside this publication is either printed on the same size as the object that is photographed, or is a study on how to achieve this actual representation.
