Some Instances of Encounters between Imagination and Matter is a case study of Exhibition, Andris Eglītis’ (b. 1981) major solo presentation at the Latvian National Museum of Art in autumn 2024. Bringing together “Traces” - photographic documentation by Reinis Hofmanis and images from the artist’s studio - and “Reverberations,” including essays and interviews by Jonatan Habib Engquist, Agnese Krivade, and Santa Hirša, the book reflects on a project seen by nearly 30,000 visitors. Expanding beyond the solitary author, Exhibition foregrounded collaboration, landscape, and material agency, rethinking museum conventions while connecting post-socialist perspectives with post-humanist thought.
