OverHolland 23, the final issue of OverHolland, is devoted to architecture and the many dimensions of its history. It opens by examining the challenges posed by the expanding scope of what was once known as listed-building conservation. Alongside Bouwkunde in Delft: a chronology 1842–2000, the issue revisits the origins of the long-standing debate between modernism and traditionalism in Delft’s architectural education. Further contributions update the composite urban expansion map of the Randstad with a sixth layer (2000–2020), trace the rise of high-rise development in Rotterdam’s city centre from 1940 to 2030, and advocate a pragmatic, design-led rediscovery of historical housing types in architectural education.
