To celebrate its twentieth anniversary, MAC VAL invited the duo Syndicat to explore the 104 publications it has produced over the past two decades. The books are displayed on a platform that unites all the published texts - totaling 16,465,721 typographic characters. Alongside selected works from the museum’s collection, enlarged pages from the catalogues are exhibited so that the formats of reproductions and originals correspond. The exhibition is accompanied by a publication in which Alexandra Midal and Thierry Chancogne reflect on the book as an object, offering historical, semantic, technical, and sociological perspectives.
