Influenced by the restrictions placed on daily life as part of the Covid-19 pandemic, Ryo Adachi turned from landscape photography to sceneries much closer to everyday life. Depicted in this collection are water drops clinging to a bathroom wall, a tree trunk half-covered by snow, sticky notes aligned in a grid, a bag of plums in front of a window, hands examining a vegetable, a car headlight, a foot balancing a sock, and other spontaneous or premeditated moments, each image subtly tracing contrasting qualities or an essence – motifs blurring the boundary between inside and outside, bringing external elements into the interior, shaping the contours of the surrounding space.
