Initially founded in 2016 as an independent project space, Last Tango became a Kunstverein in Zurich dedicated to presenting and producing original exhibitions by a transgenerational roster of artists. Its mission was to support artists in pursuing ambitious and stimulating presentations of their work. In seeking to provide a dynamic programme of exhibitions and events, Last Tango brought together new perspectives, critical reflection, dedicated outreach, and unanticipated combinations of practices. This publication gathers that spirit, tracing the history of what was built and shared, because their story isn’t just one of isolated professionalism, it’s also deeply personal.
