Makiko Tanaka: Black Hawaii
‘Black Hawaii’ is a book of poetry and colourful paintings by Makiko Tanaka. On her trip to Hawaii, the author was deeply moved and inspired by the sunsets and her nights at the beach. Tanaka was born in Tokyo, Japan, and currently lives in Paris, France. She works mainly with watercolour and oil, and has published other books. This book also contains a record with two original songs written by world-renown guitarist Marc Ribot, who has previously worked with Tom Waits and Elvis Costello.
