Tegneklubben (The Drawing Club), founded in 2004, is a Norwegian artist collective centred on drawing. Its members - Bjørn Bjarre, Ulf Carlsson, Paul Dring, and Martin Skauen - collaborate through playful, spontaneous sessions that blur the line between image and text. Though not a writing club, words often sneak into their work - sometimes to make sense of a drawing, other times as a starting point for form and meaning. The focus is on play, occasionally brushing against serious themes, but mostly driven by shared enjoyment and mutual inspiration. Tegneklubben began as a pressure-free space outside their day jobs, with no ambition for exhibitions - just anonymous drawing, free from explanation or responsibility. “A bit cowardly,” they say, “but also liberating.”
