The first monograph on Swiss artist Noemi Pfister, published on the occasion of her eponymous exhibition at the Bündner Kunstmuseum Chur (September 6 - November 23, 2025). Pfister (b. 1991, Switzerland) blends motifs from art history and pop culture into multilayered narratives that explore youth, digitality, ecology, and the human form. Her dreamlike landscapes, inhabited by distorted, enigmatic figures scrolling on phones or gliding on skateboards, merge the visual language of Old Master paintings with the gestures of contemporary life. By intertwining the familiar and the uncanny, Pfister’s work reflects on the communities we inhabit - and those yet to come. Co-founder of the Basel art space Palazzina, Pfister continues to shape a dialogue between past and present through her distinctive visual imagination.
