Working with a single proportion and five canvas formats, Guilbert’s practice revolves around repetition and composition that verge on abstraction, infused with a subconscious undertone and a strong sense of rhythm. Each work is executed on paper or wood using oil sticks handmade by the artist from a mixture of oil paint and natural beeswax.
