This book documents four years of an ongoing project by the Tokyo-based collaborative artist unit C&K, realized in partnership with the Otsuka (Tokyo) gallery MISAKO & ROSEN. Since 2022, C&K have produced an annual series of photographs at the historic Marubell-do photo studio in Asakusa. One image is used for the gallery’s New Year card, while others are adapted into objects promoting the practice—tea cups, calendars, key chains, and more. While documenting this evolving project, the catalogue also becomes part of the expanding inventory of C&K goods. C&K is a collaboration between Tokyo artists COBRA and Ken Kagami, whose practices share an interest in everyday humor, scatology, and the writings of Milwaukee-based artist David Robbins.
