In this extensive monograph, Eveline Visser presents her work ‘Good Over Evil’, which explores future alternatives to Rotterdam’s petrochemical and industrial landscape, reimagining the Maasvlakte through organic settlements built from fungal structures. The dynamics of her visual stories are based on contradictions such as chaos and order, a central theme in her work since the 1970s. Each work is created according to a somewhat premeditated plan, but new questions arise in the process. Visser makes objects, dioramas, and painted interior pieces that offer an interactive experience. The book was designed by graphic designer Steffen Maas in close harmony with the artist.
